Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
ACTCA organises professional development events and activities to support members continue their professional excellence and growth. Many of these events are aligned with core and specialist competencies described in the Professional Standards for Australian Career Development Practitioners.
The Career Industry Council of Australia (CICA) requires Professional and Associate Career Development Practitioners to annually participate in a minimum of 15 hours continuing professional development (CPD). At least 5 hours must be structured activities, and up to 10 hours unstructured activities can count toward CPD.

Quality Assurance
ACTCA professional development events and activities are guided by:
- CICA’s Professional Standards for Australian Career Development Practitioners (2019) that includes CICA’s Code of Ethics
- CICA’s Guiding Principles for Career Development Services and Career Information Products (2020)
- the Australian Blueprint for Career Development (2009)
- career theory and research-based evidence.
